Jake was a black Labrador retriever owned by the master carpenter responsible for much of the beautiful restoration work visible in the Long Valley Pub and Brewery. Jake became familiar to the brewer as the dog lounged around the construction site during the hot, 1995 summer days while the dilapidated stone barn was meticulously restored. The friendship struck between the brewer and dog inspired the name of this beer. Lazy Jake Porter is a robust, black beer. Blends of five varieties of malted barley combine to give this beer its assertive flavor and full body. Generous late hop additions complete its bold character.
