Danish: Kongens Bryghus Broyhan Rød er en fyldig rødgylden øl brygget på hvede- og bygmalt som det blev gjort på Christian IVs tid. Øltypen er kendt fra historiske kilder, hvori det nævnes at kongen bestilte det til sit ophold på orlogsskibet Trefoldigheden i 1644. Det var på selv samme skib, at kongen blev hårdt såret under søslaget ved Kolberger Heide. Som bekendt rejste han sig fra skibslægens bord og mon ikke han fik et krus forfriskende Broyhan til at styrke sig på?

Bottle, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Deep golden to amber colour, low head. Dusty malts in the aroma. Fairly dry flavour, some hops in the finish. Not very interesting. Rerate: Had the rest of the bottle with dinner, and found a pleasant balance between the malts and hops. I’m upping it a few points. (Went very well with my "vossakorv, komler & kålrabi".)
