Sample from bottle at RBNAG 2014, Halden, Grand Tasting. ABV was 6.1%. Hazy orange colour. Moderate yeasty / spicy / brett aroma. Acidic brett flavour, fruity and spicy notes.

Seems like a winter warmer, spice brown, etc. Has some flavors of a pumpkin ale without the overwhelming nutmeg and clove. Tasting cinnamon up front.....caramel malt, bread, mild fruit....quite complex actually for just over 6%. Only had a 2-3 ounce sample in a flight, but wouldn't mind sharing a bottle next season to really get the jist.

Sampled from bottle. Pours clear copper-amber with a thin scattered head. Tart fruit/wild yeast aroma. Beautiful. Tart and dry. Subtle spice. Wonderful funky beer.

Labeled as Autumn Fire, and definitely more of a sour/wild ale than a belgian, or any other style. Agressively sour more so than a lot of their beers. Very heavy oak and funk presence in the aroma and flavor, which i loved. Initial head disappates quick to leave a rather flat looking beer, otherwise this beer is the bomb. Musty, light spices and fruit. near puckering sour aftertaste. Love it.

Wow POP it went upon opening it. Pour was cloudy orange color. Aroma was lots of different spices going on there, yeast light fruits mostly grapes I guess. Flavor was much the same, was a little thin on the flavor side, old lady floral came out in the flavor not good taste. Not bad not good.

Bottle from CaptainCougar. Tons of excitement upon bottle opening, a total gusher, loud pop, foam geiser, three relatively sober guys couldn't solve the problem as it spilled over the tv tray onto the floor everywhere (thanks to the Little Green machine for the cleanup, they're awesome!). Full semi-cloudy hazy orange appearance. The aroma was spices (cardamum and white pepper came to mind, but I don't actually know what the heck they are half the time, lol), bret, yeast, nuttiness, floral hops (lavendar?). The flavor was all of the aroma, lots going on in here, white grapes, but perfumey floralness and too intense of spicing as it warmed were the faults in this one. Aftertaste included a nice touch of sawdust, but not enough to clean up the spicing and overly floral notes. Mouthfeel was lively, but that probably was not a great thing given the flavors I wanted less envigorated. A fun brew, the base beer quite nice, but other than that just a nice spice beer, most of which don't work for me. Thanks, Tom!

I’m trying to be objective...as I just detest spiced ales. Whatever this beer claims to be, the spice in this one is overwhelming. A trip to my wife’s spice rack still leaves me at a loss as to exactly what was in this beer, but I just didn’t like it. Apart from the spice (and everything else really is a side note), this one was super dry in the mouthfeel with very little sourness that usually attends a Jolly Pumpkin brew. Cherries and apples are the dominant sweet flavors and maybe a touch of lemon zing (but again, not very sour). Eh.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thin white head that quickly goes to a thin film and collar that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is doughy malts with tart, slightly sour, fruits and some spices.
The flavor is earthy yeast with some bready malts. It has some tart and slightly sour fruits, wood and some spices and a dry lightly bitter finish. It has a bit of a washed out and watery flavor. The mouthfeel is medium with lots of sharp carbonation.
Overall, it's a pretty typical JP brew, although not one of their better ones. I'd prefer more sourness and less watery flavors.
