The beer is actually a biere de garde, I chose strong ales as there isn't a category for it. Consumed in a tulip from a crowler purchased at the brewpub. Pours a reddish brown color with small white head that disappears quickly. Aromas of malt, sour fruit (dates & apples), some mustiness and a hint of caramel. Malt and sour fruit dominate the flavor which leads to a tart finish. A step outside my usual comfort zone. I had this as part of a flight at the brewpub and decided to bring home a crowler of it. Interesting.
