Whoa...this is the leel of peaty malty goodness I was hoping for in the base, or even the original whiskey version. While those were adequately malty and fruity, they lacked the peat. I'm not looking for a smoke monster, and this was not one. But it is a ridiculously drinkable as balanced beer, especially at 12.5%! Aroma and taste of charred oak, peat, apple and other fruit. Little show of alcohol, though its a sipper. Love this beer. Wish it was a locally available option, and I'm VERY curious about the batch 2 blend. Kudos Stone.
