This strong ale starts off sweet, with fruity nuances and hints of caramel and toffee, and finishes smooth with a definite alcohol presence. Poured an indigo color with a small, off white head that left very little lacing on the glass. Aroma of plums, candy sugar, port wine, apples, and caramel malt. Taste of sweet malts (caramel and honey), grapes, apples, dried fruits (prunes?), and really finished cloying sweet. For the size of this, very light alcohol was detected, but overall it was very sweet. I enjoyed this snifter (or mini martini glass without the stem) after dinner.
