The Pomegranate and Grapefruit sour showcases a unique balance between tart and sweet. It’s a fine line to walk, but we left it in the hands of fermentation and it didn’t let us down. This fruity pair is meant to satisfy your thirst and be deliciously refreshing!

Sample from can at a tasting at Cardinal (not in the pub's regular selection, AFAIK). Peach-coloured beer, moderate off-white head. Aroma and flavour of lactic acid, pomegranate and grapefruit. So what? Not bad, but one in a baker's dozen of sour beers. Yawn.

Pours a slightly hazy (gets hazier as it goes) golden-peach colour with a huge head that is creamy, off-white warm but kind of pinkish, with good retention and leaving some nice dirty lacing. Tarty nose with some light sourness and fruitiness. The taste shows more of the sour notes with some puckering. The fruit is also more present. The lingering is nice and tart is quite minimal in this one. A refreshing sour, fruity brew.

The beer pours a slightly hazed straw gold colour with a huge pillowy dirty white head. Lacing is decent and effervescence is high. The aroma has a lot of breadiness in it with hints of funk. No grapefruit notes that I can discern. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average mouthfeel. The flavour is yeasty with hints of tropical fruit and cereal grains. This would never be a favourite.

Small can from LCBO. Pours a fairly big foamy white head with thick soapy lacing and has a pale golden appearance. Moderate carbonation. Aromas of citrus and tropical fruit, some pine and grassy notes. Flavours are mostly tropical and citrus hops, some mild oats and wheaty notes. A little bit of hop bitterness on the palate. Drying mouthfeel.
