Our White Stout is an original Clocktower Brew Pub “mash up” inspired by two different styles of beer; a WiT beer and a Stout. It is based on our traditional WiT beer as it is brewed with a generous amount of wheat, spiced with lemon peel and lemon dominant hops. The twist in the White Stout comes from the nitrogen which is added to carbonate the beer. The smaller nitrogen bubbles lend a distinct creaminess to the beer bringing the lemon zest flavours to the front of the taste. Our White Stout is a refreshing and highly drinkable beer, perfect for the onset of patio season!

Pours a medium-golden colour with a creamy warm nitro head with decent lacing. Grainy nose with hints of sourness, almost fruity and some yeast. Mouthfeel is a little thicker than most golden ale that look like this. I guess that is the resemblance with a stout. Typical Clocktower grain taste with very mild hops in the middle. Good brew, but seems like their blond ale with nitro.

On tap at Clocktower Brewpub, Glebe. Pours a fair size thick creamy tan head and has a clear golden appearance. Aromas are quite wheaty and malty. Flavours are actually quite fruity, not overly just a bit unexpected. Nice smooth malty and light grainy notes, thankfully not too much. Some yeasty notes as well. Slick and creamy sensation. Smooth. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Unique for sure.
