A huge thanks to Peter Zien and the Alesmith crew for brewing this beer *especially* for the RBSG 2008. Great complex flavors of coffee, chocolate, with a touch of vanilla. It was truly world class in every way.

Delicious from all angles. Pours a thick oily dark brown, with a thin/foamy brown head and strands of bubbly lacing. Smooth, rich and decadent....extremely well blended and in good form at the time of tasting. Roasted nuts, fudge, bitter and rich coffee, vanilla and more. Exceptional stout, even after considering the process for the beans.

Thanks again to Peter Zien and crew for this amazing beer. This Imperial stout pours a deep black color from the tap. A medium sized tan foamy head, with nice retention and good lacing. The aroma is coffee, some more coffee, some chocolate and some vanilla. A full bodied Imperial stout. The malts are roasty, with lots of chocolate and coffee flavors, add on top of that a very smooth mellow coffee flavor. Hints of vanilla at the finish. This is the coffee stout of coffee stouts. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter with some chocolate.
