Pours a bit cloudy orange to amber color forming a small aired bubbled yellow head. Low retention and many lacings left. Sweet on the nose. Toffee, honey, Belgian yeasts, dark fruits (grapes) and flowery hops. Follows the nose. Caramel malts, roasted malts, Belgian yeasts. Metallic and biscuity. Grassy hops bitterness. Light body. Good carbonation. Good bitter aftertaste.

I really liked this, the consensus around the table was that its way to sweet or it had cardboard flavors, i liked it though ... . call me mint jelly, because i’m on the lamb! .. . refreshing stuff, i must say, a light sweet pale if there ever was one, nice golden shimmer to it, lacing is fine too! ... so long suckers! colgate cavity patrol!?!?!

I had high hopes for this but it really wasn't that great. Doesn't match up to other pale ales I've had; perhaps it would be a better fit in another category. I did detect some spice and floral notes but it needs more hops to be a good pale ale.

Pours a clear amber colour with no head. Aroma is malty, very little hops with noticeable corn. Taste is of corn, malts and a touch black licorice. Overall, kind of a dud.

12 0z brown bottle with a twist off cap. Looks just a tad darker that the everyday pale yellow beer. Yeasty aroma which is a little pale-ish and alky sweet yet not very hoppy. First taste is surprisingly like a decent wheat beer, with a little hop bitterness added in. As the session continues, the wheatish attributes fade just a little while the hop character begins to build. I bet the secret blend includes some wheat or wheat yeast. I put off tasting this cause I thought it would be too hoppy, which it is not. Finish is certainly a tad hoppy but very acceptable without any bad offenses. Probably should not be in the Pale Ale Style Category. If it is actually a pale ale, it’s the best I’ve ever tasted.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is grassy, with some glue and fruits also. Flavour is really dry fruity and grassy hoppy with a lot of wood. Nice.

Ha, I love the name, South American Pale Ale. The body is medium gold with a large white head. The aroma is sickly sweet with oranges and mint. There is also a medicinal note. The taste has some light hints of orange peels along with some fresh herbs. There is a definite grassy note. The body is thin and lightly carbonated. I would consider this more like a relatively highly hopped golden ale than a pale ale.

Bottle opened without much fizz, somewhat silent, pour was generally flat to very low head. Aroma was lightly spiced and of citrus hops, a little bit earthy/vegetal-like. The flavor was vegetal, funky spicey, not much hop presence. Thought I was drinking a South American take on American Pale, the Belgian Pale on the label makes more sense, although it wasn't quite that either. Maybe I need to give this one another shot from a different bottle, although others seem to note minimal head, lack of carbonation (and the price was ridiculous)? As of now, the "bomb" of the Eisenbahn lineup I've recently been able to pick up.

honey pale orange colour with almost no foam, decent hoppy nose with notes of litchies and flowers, oily with a moderate bitterness, short dry and bitter floral finish - balanced but easy
