The “tripel” name wasn’t used until the Trappist monks at Westmalle Abbey changed the name of what they’d called Superbier, their heaviest pale ale, in 1956. Tripel is thought to denote the strength of the beer, though dubbels and quads are entirely different styles of dark beer. Our tripel is spicy, with clove, banana, citrus and pepper notes, followed by some sweet, grainy malt and fluffy carbonation. The dry finish has a touch of sweetness and just enough bitterness.

Taps clear amber with a thick parchment head that leaves heavy lacing. Aroma yields butterscotch, yeasty, coriander and fresh malt notes. Flavor provides coriander, butterscotch, yeasty, pomme and tropical tones - yum! Texture gives peppy fizz and good body with a coriander finish. Light up your drinking.
