Made popular by the craft brewers of America, Imperial IPA is a revived style of beer that pushes the boundaries of well-hopped, high-strength ales. Imperial IPA’s are traditionally brewed with a high proportion of crystal malt. Our unique take sees UK hop varieties Target, Goldings and Fuggles added to the copper at multiple points during the brew, delivering a piney, earthy aroma and a distinct edge of bitterness. For extra intrigue, we’ve also added a hint of black pepper - giving the beer a unique spicy twist.

500 ml bottle in cardboard box, from Best of Beers, Denmark. ABV is 10.5%. Cloudy and very dark brown colour, probably the darkest IPA I've seen (except black IPAs, of course). Moderate to small off-white to beige head. Aroma of over-ripe red berries, jam, piney and earthy hops. The flavour is medium sweet and distinctly hoppy, notes of jam / marmalade, piney and earthy hops again. Slightly warming mouthfeel. Impressive.

500ml brown bottle in a Fuller's box that pours a clean dark amber colour with a copper hue. The frothy head is a nice side, frothy, light-beige with good retention and great splashy lacing. Crazy rich malty scent with caramel and butterscotch. The taste takes a curve with mostly raisin flavours. Not as rich, thankfully, with the well-balanced hops to create a dry and bitter finish. Make this one easier to drink than smell, even though everything here is not bad at all. Some decent nuttiness comes out to calm the rich nose.
