While in Barcelona, Spain, President & Artisan Brewer, Peter Chiodo, made fast friends with brewer Angel Torme Tarragona of L’Anjub Cervesa Artisana. A theoretical brewing discussion about hops and IBUs inspired them to collaborate in the creation of a sessionable IPA with no kettle hops but utilizing all late additions. The plan? To create a fresh IPA (of sorts) with full hop aromas and flavour without – as in ZERO – hop bitterness . . . or a theoretical IBU measurement of zero.

The beer pours a slightly hazed golden orange colour with an off-white head that lasts a few minute. The aroma was strong on tropical fruits with hints of papaya and pineapple. There is also some grapefruit and grass notes in the mix. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is light tropical fruit notes, weak grains, some citrus rind, and a little funky yeast note. Quite good.
