We are brewing a classic Bavarian-Style Dunkle Weisse (Dark Wheat) beer. Ayinger’s wheat beers are among the best produced anywhere in the world. We decided to bring together our two approaches to the style and create an all-new, rich, and malty version of the style. It’s brewed in our open fermenter to allow the authentic Bavarian yeast strain to shine, with complex aromas of banana bread, caramel malt and clove.

Taps opaque caramel with a thin but serviceable beige head that leaves good lacing. Aroma offers toasted malt and fruity tones. Flavor kicks it up a level, zesty and lip-smacking, adding a note of tangy hops. Mouthfeel presents fair body and jazzy fizz. Dunkle you just love it?

Though not one of my favorite styles, this is a good representation. Has a murky medium brown appearance.....reminds me of the Suwannee River. Heavy wheat and caramel malt. Sweet flavors of wheat and bread....not much bitter. Decent but sort of forgettable.
