This porter (6.4% ABV, 30 IBUs) is based on malt flavors of roasted nuts, crème brulee, cocoa, and caramel, extracted from English and German roasted and caramel malts. Hotbox Roasters then crashes the party and infuses potent, cold-extracted coffee from Burundi and Ethiopian beans and deals out flavors and aromas of dark plums, chocolate, and hints of blueberry.

355 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Black colour, large beige head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee and dark chocolate. The flavour has a slight sweetness, distinct notes of coffee but not overdone, also chocolate and decent hops, hints of roasted nuts. Good beer.

Picked up a 4 pack at LCBO. Pours a medium sized frothy brownish head and has a dark brown appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Good retention. Aromas of light roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, subtle caramel hints. Flavours are fairly sweet, more of the chocolate and coffee as well as earthy hops and some mild spice notes. Slick mouthfeel and slightly bitter finish.

Pours rich oily-black with a very thick and persistent cinnamon head. Aroma presents strong quality coffee, roasted malt, and subtle molasses and woody hop tones. Coffee - oh, that Balinese coffee! - dominates the scrumptious flavor, but gladly shares the stage with roast malt, smoky, nutty and shy molasses tones. Firm body offers good, lasting fizz and a smoky coffee finish. Beer: It’s not just for breakfast anymore!

12 oz can. Pours dark brown with a medium creamy brown head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet chocolate malts with some roast coffee.

The flavor is sweet chalky chocolate malts with some ashy acidic coffee roast in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, I remember the old version tasting better.
