Flesh & Blood began with a ton of real citrus including lemon flesh and blood orange juice—hence the name—plus orange and lemon peel. Then the brewers began searching for the perfect combination of hops to perfectly complement the citrus flavors. After trialing number of different hops one-by-one, they emerged with Warrior and Centennial. So what does this focus on simple, pure unadulterated fruit mean in terms of the aromatics and flavors in this beer? Flesh & Blood balances the resinous hoppy characteristics of an American IPA with the explosive zesty fruitiness and subtle drying tartness of citrus to deliver a highly quaffable ale that’s incredibly unique and lovely to down the whole year round.

Had a can of this at a Smokey Bones restaurant in Florida. Golden-amber colour with a beige head, mildly creamy with good lacing. Citrus nose over caramel malts. The hoppiness is well-blended with the juice that helps the finish. Lightly dry mouthfeel. Nicely balanced IPA with mild blood orange juice, but not overly juicy.

Taps clear reddish copper with a nice fine-bubbled pale buff head. Aroma offers resiny hops, malt, and more than a hint of caramel. Flavor delivers evergreen hops, fresh malt, and subtle caramel tones for a very drinkable IPA. Firm mouthfeel offers plenty of fizz. Let this infuse your flesh and blood.

A bronze colored beer with a big frothy textured tan head rising robustly above. There's good hang time on the head. Settles into a thick ringlet. Mild hoppiness in the nose. That hoppiness is balanced with grapefruit and sweet orange. Very drinkable. Nicely done.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear reddish gold with a medium creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet orange and grapefruit hops.

The flavor is lots of sweet citrus fruit with a medium balancing bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice fruity but mild IPA.
