The Kentucky common was a common beer produced around Louisville up until prohibition shut the production and tasty alcoholic beverages down. With a little bit of effort and hope we try to revive what was once a perfect fit for the masses. The style is very light in body and alcohol with a brown tone to its color. The alcohol is low but the mouth feel is high as this beer tends to go down smoother than smooth. To balance this delicate beer, superior pale malts were used as a base and flaked corn was added to lighten the color and maintain the alcohol. Chocolate and caramel Munich gives the beer it’s mellow brown color and sweet caramel flavors that are tasted up front. On the back end of the taste we used sour malts to give the beer just a hint of tart to keep it refreshing.

Pours clear, dark Amber with a buff head. Malty aroma has a hint of fruit. Flavor exceeds what the aroma promises, malty and a little fruity with a yeasty underpinning and a touch of hops. Texture is smooth and fairly firm, leaving a persistent if not strong tingle. Common, but refreshing - especially after driving all the way from Atlanta.
