This hoppy, deep amber-hued beer was created to shine a light on rare, unexplored grains seldom used in the brewing world. In addition to barley, wheat, rye and triticale, we added malted millet and malted buckwheat to bring the total unique grain count to nine. The earthy, nutty notes of granola found in this experimental multigrain malt bomb are complemented by the citrusy, floral flavors of four classic American hops. We dry-hopped the beer with Cascade and Centennial hops at the end, adding more citrus notes and rounding out the grain bill’s rich, bready character. Release November 22nd 2015 This beer had its share of controversy. If you’re wondering about its unusual label, the whole story is on The Stone Blog

Rated in Jan. 2016. 22oz bomber pours with a clear amber to ruby red colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up inviting spicy hops, floral hops, some crystal malts, sweet graininess and then a sliver of citrus. The taste delivers a pleasing blend of sweet crystal malts, spicy hoppy bitterness and then softer citrus hop, an earthy spicy hoppiness and floral hop notes. The malts take on a bit of added sweetness to midway and into the finish. Interesting beer where the earthy to spicy hops take center stage and that’s totally fine with me.

Pours clear chestnut with a fairly thick and frothy pale tan head. Aroma presents strong fruity, malty and woody tones. Bold flavor has a fruity core, apple and pear and a little citrus, which supports a malty chord and a firm note of woody, slightly bitter hops. Grain-iac indeed! Mouthfeel features average body but good, strong fizz and a nice hoppy and malty finish. It’s a grainiac, grainiac in your mouth.

Surprisingly floral nose with bread notes and slightly roasted grain. Strong nose. Pours a very dark copper body with a nice beige head with good retention and little lace. Mouth is a bit thin and very fizzy. Flavor....GRAIN! they ain't kidding!!! Burnt oatmeal, sweet dark fruit, licorice, some bright lemony hop notes, astringent bitter finish, alcohol well masked, aftertaste is sweet licorice. A big beer that is complex and well balanced. Kick top the appearance and mouth and this would be a real winner but great fun to drink regardless.

Dark copper colour, dense creamy tan head. Great lacing. Grassy and floral aroma. Well carbonated with a full creamy mouthfeel. Multitude of flavours happening. Like a hoppy Irish red ale. Sweet and malty, caramel, earthy, and floral hops. A touch of spice in the background. Not a breakfast beer.

Bottle. Copper pour with a medium, dense tan head. Sweet malt and caramel laced with resinous hops and citrus fruit in the aroma. Taste is citrus, hop resins, sweet malt, pine, grains, dark bread and floral notes. Body is medium and slightly chewy with lots of oiliness and lingering hop bitterness. Ends with more caramel, chewy malt, grains, bread, floral hops, ripe citrus, hop oils and pine resins.
