While Gold might be lighter in colour, it’s definitely no lightweight. At 4.5% abv, the combination of four hop varieties and an infusion of wheat and malted barley has resulted in the perfect golden beer – with a huge hop punch. Guilt edged golden refreshment. Well what did you expect?

Shared 500 ml bottle, bought in London. ABV is 4.5%. Gplden colour, moderate white head. The aroma has moderate fruity hops. Decent hops in the medium dry flavour, fairly well balanced. Nice enough to drink. Cask, half pint at the Bag o’ Nails, London Victoria. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Citrussy aroma, also tropical fruits. Smooth flavour but not tasteless, decent hops with notes of citrus and tropical fruits, esp. lychee.

Pours a huge frothy white head and has a pale golden yellowish appearance. Has some pretty thick sticky lacing. Aromas of wheats, grains and subtle grassy hops. Flavours are mixture of herbal and grassy hops with a bit of pine notes as well. Some fairly sweet notes do come through as well. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable.

The beer pours a translucent light gold with a snow white head and lots of effervescence. The aroma is light grains, tropical fruit, weak citrus, and earthy hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is very grainy with light notes of citrus and spice. Nothing spectacular.

Pours a golden colour with bubbly off-white head that stays a while, leaving some decent foamy lacing. Nice aromas of fruits, mostly citrus, but not just the zest, but the inside too. Piney notes as well from the hop. The hops are actually quite present in the taste as well, over the grainy malts, to finish with some mild zest. Just not too bitter. A nicely hopped, light-alcohol easy-drinking golden ale. Well done Wychwood !
