Espresso is a drink that is not for the faint of heart. Pulling a perfect shot is as much a science as it is an art form. Come to think of it, the same can be said for brewing beer. Of course, both coffee and beer have certain, shall we say ‘uplifting’ qualities. Combine the two is a natural progression. Our 2xStout is considered by many to be a perfect milk stout. We started with that in mind, and added espresso beans and lemon peels for a true Italian style pick-me-up. The result is a stout so black, so rich, so creamy, it’d be at home in a café along a cobblestone street in some neighborhood in Rome. Yet, it’s beer.

I wasn't too sure about lemon peel in a stout but it seems to work very well. Pour's black with minimal head and lacing. roasted malt and old coffee aroma. Flavour of strong coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, smoke, caramel sweetness and light lemon. Medium chalky mouthfeel. Good way to start the day, or end it.

This is a twist on their 2xStout. Some added flavor with the espresso and lemon peel. Some bitter up front, balanced out well with some semi-sweet chocolate malt flavors. Dark black appearance with a dark mocha colored frothy head. I'd recommend to anyone that is into this style.
