Strong, malty aroma has a good tone of pumpkin and more than a hint of cloves. Pours a translucent russet with a fairly thick buff head that leaves some good lacing. Malty flavor has a firm, but not overpowering, note of pumpkin plus hints of cloves and cinnamon and a touch of hops. Texture has good fizz and body. A very good beer for a Halloween party - or for Thanksgiving dinner.

I have been unhappy with the emphasis of spices in 'pumpkin ales'. This is a pleasant surprise. Amber colored beer with a small two fingered sudsy textured beige head rises briefly above. A thin ringlet is left. The nose is light notes of pumpkin. And the tasting is more pimkon than spices in a malt, grassy hopped backbone. Well done.
