A ruby highlighted, brown to black colored body, with a foamy, fluffy, clingy, tan head. Nose of bitter coffee, with cocoa, and hints of roasted nuts. Flavors of bitter roast coffee, chocolate, roasted nuts, and hints of char. Dry, smooth bodied, with a roasted and bittersweet aftertaste. Dry, smooth finish. Extremely easy to drink.

wish lister. nothing bad, but we had a few better porters (and several better Odell beers) on this trip. Light roast and chocolate, hint of coffee...not quite robust enough flavor-wise to be a nitro beer, but it was still nice.

Had this one on tap. It is pitch black with an extremely creamy head to it. That damn thing lasted in one way or another for over an hour! Taste is very pleasant but slightly watery. Aroma is very pleasant as well. This one is a dream to drink on tap. Will have again and again if I see it at the bar.

    22oz bottle -

So my Raiders lost a tough one today against the Bills, 38-35. A thriller no doubt. To help ease the pain of that loss, was a few outstanding beers and this was one of 'em. Not quit porter/stout season, but this one was outstanding, even if it was 93 degrees outside.

The beer pours out an oily black body with a creamy, dense 2" thick head with great retention. Baker's chocolate, anise, mocha, and tree bark in the aroma. Dark chocolate, light smoke, coffee/mocha, with just a right amount of black patent/ashyness without being acrid. Super creamy mouthfeel really rounds out the awesomeness of this beer. Top notch.

It pours a very dark and non-transparent brownish-red with a 1/4-inch thick light-tan head and lacing surrounding the head. An aroma of roasted malts, coffee beans, chocolate, orange and citrus, light vanilla and spices. The mouthfeel is smooth, silky, and rich. Flavors of roasted malts, hops, coffee beans, unsweetened chocolate, milk, orange/citrus, bitterness, and spiciness. Man, this is solid!!

Pours a deep, rich, dark brown to almost black... slightly lighter than black when held to the light... thin deep tan head with decent lacing... huge in the roasted malt, chocolate and coffee... slightly more than medium bodied with a robust combination of flavors that match aromas with a hint of caramel and vanilla. Solid.

dark brown black .. . medium foam, oh hank- find a pick up game .. . has a light bitterness- dark roastm coffee malts, and charcoal .. . i did enjoy the experience .. . That motion is denied, Mr. Hill. Ricky Suggs is an inspiration to us all. Now on to more important matters: My motion to add "fatty fatty boom-balatty" to the list of unacceptable hate speech.

Nice bottle. Pours with a thin head which disappears quickly. Strong and smokey like all good porters, with notes of chocolate and coffee. I feel it lacks a sweetness and a smoothness in the aftertaste to compare to the likes of fuller's or samuel smith. However I found it a characterful and interesting little offering.

On tap at The Palm Restaurant in Denver. Enjoyed a pint with my tiramisu dessert after a big steak dinner. The beer is deep black, with a thick hot-chocolate brown colored head. Thick, chunky lace, foam lasts right to the end. The aroma has lots of roasted malt, some cocoa, and coffee. The taste is great, just as expected. Roasted coffee, with chocolate malt - perfectly matched the coffee/chocolate/cream in my dessert.. Full body, but not too thick or heavy, clean dry finish. Smooth and filling mouthfeel, good carbonation. This is a good porter, but the setting, mood, and food pairing made it great

I like porters. I really, really liked this one. Smell and taste is of roasted malts, some chocolate and coffee. The flavor is strong, touch of bitterness and decent carbonation. Not too heavy, so drinking a few is no problem. Very smooth from start to finish.
