Artisan maltster River Bend Malt House of Asheville, North Carolina, kiln a perfect rye. And when you pair gobs of their spicy rye with heaps of spicy hops you get a great Hop Kitchen Beer. This unique, and collaborative, Rye IPA boasts a bold blend of Simcoe, Galaxy, Cascade, and Mosaic hops to bring a thunderous 75 IBU. Have a sip and feel the bang. SENSORY VISUAL Copper colored with vanilla foam and a uniform haze. AROMA Blackcurrant and tropical fruit like kiwis upfront. Nettles, grassy, spicy and herbal. Crusty rye bread. FLAVOR Very complex! Sweet, then bitter, then sweet again. MOUTHFEEL Heavy in the mouth, finishes sweet and dry. BODY Full-bodied. Got in this year's spring/summer variety pack. Sort of like the Ranger but a little sweeter and maltier cause of the rye. Has more of a mahogany hue vs. the West Coast yellow-orange appearance. Could use a little more hops IMO, but decent balance and flavor. Still prefer the Ranger though.

Bomber from Central City. Dark orange pour, clear, with a creamy ivory head. Well retained it was, too. Aroma was rye, spice, and malt; could've been some pine, too. Flavour okay, rye and pine, caramel finish. Average mouth. Average finish. Not sure if I like rye in my IA.

22 oz bottle, best by 6/8/14. Pours clear ruby amber with a monstrous creamy white head (nitro-like) that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is spicy rye malts and piney hops with some tropical fruits coming out.
The flavor is sweet bready malts with some spicy rye and some tropical fruit and a big floral piney bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin and watery.
Overall, nice hop and rye, just really thin and watery.
