A tantalizing twist on a unique style! This ale has a seductive ebony hue, with an aroma that is bold, full of fresh floral and citrus hops, with just a pinch of pine. The rich aroma blends delightfully into the enigmatic body of rich roasted malts with chocolatey, nutty flavors. Then ensues the tang of refreshing orange peel and a citrus hop finish that lightly lingers and then beckons you to revisit this most enjoyable seasonal ale.

Pours like Coke with a 2 finger head that seems to take its sweet ass time going down. Not very thick and you can see right through it. Aroma smells like silage with hints of light hops. Taste is weird, does not taste like you average beer (not in a good way). Tastes of chocolate, rotten greens, and hops. Finishes off like your teethe are rotting out. Not that good.

A deep brown blackness in color. A small foamy textured light tan head rises briefly above. It settles into a thin soapy ringlet. A light roasty nose. More roastiness in the tasting with a grassy hop backdrop. Medium bodied.

Seems that a. this wasn't fresh (or just poor quality) and b. there wasn't enough good things going on. Floaties galore, followed by a nice hearty black roasted aroma with faint orange. Flavor and feel don;t match...too thin and the flavor is weak, and a little off/tart. I've had too many far superior in the style to try this again.
