A strong ale to warm your insides in the dead of winter. Deep aromas and flavors of dark stone fruits, bourbon, molasses, toasted coconut and vanilla come in waves.

Pours clear amber with a fair ivory head. Aroma delivers roast malt, bourbon, toffee and horehound notes. Flavor brings roast malt, bourbon and toffee with just a snip of horehound. Texture presents firm body and peppy fizz. Straight but not narrow.

This is exactly what I think of and hope for from a barrel aged barleywine. Many greats have I tasted, but this is textbook on exceptional barrel brewing. A rich and hearty malt forward barleywine encompassing the spectrum of fruity and bready malts with a balancing floral hop balance all the while built up with a perfect blend of barrel aging. Soft vanilla, slightly woody with just the right amount of bourbon going down. Beautiful tan, bubbly head that sticks around followed by heavy lacing and an awe inspiring amber~copper~light brown body. Smooth and delicate for such a bold venture. It will be tough to come across another one as eye opening as this.
