Tall boy can from Central City. Clear orange pour with a lace-producing creamy white head. Aroma was okay, with citrus and pine. Again with the citrus and pine flavour, maybe some caramel. Thankfully not tinned. Good enough mouth. Decent beer, is this really a DIPA? Seems more like an IPA, but drinkable all the same.

Imperial only by their standards, but as its labeled as such, that's how it'll get rated. The standard IPA - which I've not had - is only 5%, so this 6.9er is indeed stronger. Aroma is fairly fresh. After the initial blast of citrus and pine, some biscuit and caramel malt follow up. The flavor is definitely more malt driven than I like, and the floral qualities I look for in the style just aren't there. Not a bad beer, but pedestrian.
