New Belgium Lips of Faith Heavenly Feijoa

Awesome aroma, like a fruity white wine, with notes of hibiscus, pineapple, soft honeysuckle. Taste is almost as good, with hints of yeast as well, and well hidden alcohol. Really liked this one.

Pours a pretty clear amber with a thick, if not persistent, pale wheat head. Malty aroma has definite floral and fruity notes, not strong but tempting. Flavor is face-twisting tart, strong fruity note - that must be the feijoa (how the Hello Kitty do you pronounce that?) - and has a floral hint and a touch of honey. Firm, smooth texture leaves a slightly tingly and rather tart finish. This tripel drinks almost like a sour. Distinct and - will help your face exercise muscles you didn't know it had. ;)

Nice clear orange amber pour, fluffy white head, plenty of lacing. Sweet fruits and oranges in the initial aroma and taste, tart floral hibiscus, more sweet fruits, a touch of sour, then a light zesty linger. Refreshing if anything. Worth a try.

Light orange pour with a thin white cap of foam. Unexpected aroma of juicy pineapple, lemon, tropical fruit and yeast. Similarly fruity in taste with a pleasant tartness to go with the spicy yeast notes. Overall, I really enjoyed this.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a smallish white head that quickly goes to a thin film and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is peppery tropical fruits with some musty yeast.

The flavor is a little bready malt with lots of sweet tart fruits and some peppery spices. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low but sharp carbonation.

Overall, I liked the mix of tart fruits and spices. It's not very much like a tripel though.

Pours a clear, light amber color with a small white head that disappears quickly. Aromas of white grapes, flowers, tart fruit aromas. Taste is initially, surprisingly tart, plenty going on, peppery spices are coming through with some floral flavors. There is a lingering tartness in the flavor that I like. Must be from this strange fruit that I have never heard of. Finishes with white grapes and green apple flavors. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and somewhat wine-like. Overall, I enjoyed this beer. I really like the tart fruit flavors throughout with the yeasty spiciness. Solid brew.

Sampled on 3/17/2013. This Belgian Triple pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet, floral and tart, with some yeast and a touch of funk. A medium bodied triple. The malts are fruity and sweet, The hops are earthy and herbal. Decent carbonation. This is kind of a weird beer, it has some tartness and some pineapple (feijoa?) and some definite hibiscus flavors. Its kind of a mess, but it kind of works. Lots of sweetness, lots of tartness with some herbal stuff as well. Overall it’s a nice tart ale. Definitely different. Mouthfeel is full and round Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.
