Smells good. Looks good. That's about it. The taste of this was just to maply sweet for my palate. oh yeah you can REALLY taste the maple. I like the smell and it poured nice, and felt okay in the mouth, but I just couldn't past the taste, to the point I actually poured the last one out.

Bottle - deep copper color with reddish highlights, clear, 2 finger rocky off white cap, well carbonated. Light roasty aroma, some maple not over powering, grassy hop. Flavor is mild but flavorful good balance between roasty and sweet malts, maple tones and woody hops - clean finish, roasty accents, light bittering. Mouth feel is a tad thin. Very approachable beer - a gateway brew.

Acquired from trade with Chopz. Pours a pretty average size head that leaves a thin layer. Has a dull coppery/light brown appearance. Fairly weak lacing. Aromas are light maple notes with mainly roasted malts and earthy, herbal hops. Flavours are mostly toasty and nutty malts with hints of sweet caramel and toffee. The maple is actually quite faint in the mix and getting more of a smoky like flavour. Slight spicy notes and bitterness. Medium bodied, prickly drying mouthfeel with pretty weak carbonation. Not too bad but not enough maple in the mix.

Part of the 2013 Mill Street Spring Sampler Pack. The beer pours a translucent dark copper colour with a thin tan ring for a head. Aroma is nut malt and caramel. No maple in the nose whatsoever. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is nut malt with some roasted coffee hints, and a touch of caramel and weak hops. More enjoyable than the Spring Imp, but still an average drinkable beer.

Comes in a 6-pack of their 2013 Spring Sampler (3 of these, and 3 of the Spring Imp). Pours a dark amber colour, clean, with a big frothy beige head that lasts quite a while and gives out spiderweb lacing. Smells like a nut brown ale with lots of malt character (sweet and toasted), nutty notes and light hop. Medium-light bodied and wet mouthfeel. Mild hoppy start flavours with the roasted malt showing in the finish with just a tad of sweetness and hints of nuts linger in the aftertaste. I do not taste the maple syrup though, nor do I smell it. Still, a pretty good brown ale.
