Gentle nose of coffee chocolate and vanilla slightly burnt. Poison opaque almost black body with slightly warm brown overtones and a beige head with good retention and little lace. Pretty sick mouse creamy and foamy but in a good way. Damn this tastes good! Fairly complex and with a long finish. Hits with chocolate coffee combination some vanilla bean playing in the middle along with deeply roasted malts. Perfectly bittered great balance The vanilla bean almost plays as lactose really dry clean finish one of the best stouts I've ever had. (Amazing grain bill: Maris Otter Pale, Chocolate, Caramel 40L, Roasted Barley, Midnight Wheat, Caramel 80L, Flaked Oats.

Pours a rich coffee brown with a fairly thick light tan head. Strong area has chocolate, coffee, and roast malt notes with a hint of molasses. Flavor pleases with coffee, chocolate, and smoky malt notes plus a snip of molasses - and is that licorice? Texture seems thin for a stout, but fizz is strong. A mean good stout.

I really liked this beer - I picked it up from the beer shop by the Farmers Market in Roanoke. Fantastic beer - even flavor, smooth, not harsh. Dark color, smells like wood and vanilla - great beer!

Pours a deep brown color with frothy tan head that leaves some sporadic lacing on the sides of the glass. Aromas of roasted malt, vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Vanilla is the dominant flavor, but it is not overpowering. It is closely followed by strong, bitter coffee and deeply roasted malt. The vanilla is not over the top, which does happen in some of the vanilla stouts I've had. This beer is well balance and allows the flavors of the stout to shine. A tasty beer.

In your face (in a good way) for a lower abv beer. Big aroma of cocoa, vanilla, and hearty roasted malts. A little hops in the flavor as well, which is both sweet, roasted, and very very dry. Super drinkable, bittersweet dry finish. I'm curious about this place now...
