    12oz bottle -

Aroma - toasted malt, super subtle chocolate (reminded me of a chocolate cola) but mostly a bland sweetness covers this aroma.

Appearance - mahogany body, 3-finger tan head, average retention, zero lacing

Mouthfeel - thin, watery, light bodied, light-medium carbonation

Flavor - light spices, light on the chocolate almost too watered down. Sapped the character right out of it.

Overall - drinkable, a ghost of what it probably was like as a high grav beer..would have liked to try that.

Pours a murky brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is faint, some wheat perhaps. Taste is much the same with a mild roasty flavor on the finish. There is also a very mild chili heat in the back of the throat that quickly dies out. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel.

This was ok. Not sure if I would say is my favorite Shock Top. Wanted to like it more, and was hoping it would be a little darker/maltier. On the thin side for a dunkel, lighter than Beck's Dark. I definitely noticed the heat though on the finish. I agree, that I a litte more malt/spice/body would improve this beer...but then they would have to charge more.

Reading the ingredients on the label (wheat, chocolate malt, chili and spice) I can almost pick out each flavor concentrating on each ingredient per sip. Not one of my favorites but if I had my choice of a Shock Top brew, this would be the one.

For a mass product, it was ok - but having this brew (with similar extra-cirricular ingredients) after Mayan Maybe showcased the weaknesses. It's drinkable and fairly tasty, but the spices used are light, as is the body. Needs to be a little more assertive to be taken seriously.

Strong aroma is wheaty and yeasty and has a firm dry hay note. Pours a dark, slightly hazy chestnut with a thick pale tan head. Wheaty flavor has hints of cloves and chocolate, quite tasty. Texture has about average body but good fizz. End of the World? Not today!

A crystalline amber colored beer wuth a three finger flurothy textired, off white head rising above. There's some hang time. Settles into a weak ringlet. Malt, cocoa notes in the nose. Ass some spiciness to that in the tasting. Ot's okay. Light medium bodies. Effervescent.

Thanks to S8N for this one. From their "Seasonal Collection" series. Pours a hazy caramel-copper colour with a big frothy off-white head, good retention and dirty lace. Aromas of malt found in Irish red ales, with notes of chocolate, alcohol and very light spices. The taste is pretty different, but good. The chili being more apparent, with the chocolate malt and other spices, like cinnamon. Bread notes lingers. Again, nothing too crazy, but way better than most AB products.

After being impressed by their pumpkin wheat, I figured this would be worth a try. Murky, muddy brown pour with little head. Aroma of wheat, cocoa powder and some faint spices (maybe chili powder and nutmeg?). A little thin on the mouthfeel. Taste follows the aroma with the chocolate and peppers being most noticeable. This might be a better beer if the flavors were more pronounced; maybe some more heat from the peppers is needed.
