NATASHA ROCKS AMERICA In a collaboration with Fano Brewery on Fano Island in Denmark, we created an Imperial Stout recipe to satisfy our own deepest desires. Brewing it on this picturesque summertime vacation island is how Natasha started, and of course we couldn’t wait to brew it at Hoppin’ Frog! The result is Natasha Rocks America – a rich, hoppy Imperial Stout with the deep-roasted, smooth flavor of Chocolate Rye malt. And, Natasha is generously dry-hopped with the perfect mix of select American hops, adding a great hop character to this super-tasty Imperial Stout collaboration brew.

Near-black/dark bronze pour, frothy beige head with nice lacing. Dark and milk chocolates, cocoa nibs, hint of coffee and molasses in teh nose and taste, rich with a nice firm bitter offset from more than ample earthy hops presence. Big on chocolate.

maybe some time has domne this well. I went into this timidly, as 7.5% is on the low end for an "imperial" stout, and the reviews have been good but not great. Upon cracking the bottle, though, this was an eye opener. Wonderful full aroma of rye and chocolate, light licorice and roasted coffee. Surprisingly black. Body isn't as light as expected, though it has ample carbonation it's very smooth. Flavor is a wonderful balance of hoppy and roasted stout, with the rye (I admit, i have a soft spot) done to near perfection. FAR surpassed expectations.

Interesting hop presence in what would otherwise be a pretty normal imp. Lots of chocolate and licorice in this one but a lingering hop presence that sometimes seemed ok and other times seemed missplaced. Maybe the balance could use some work here.

An interestingly odd creation, that I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peak at. Opaque brown/black body with a fizzy tan head and specks of lacing. Abundant aroma of rich roasted malts, earthy hops, sweet dark fruits/berries and black licorice. Sticky sweet and hearty with a medium to full body. Flavor follows suit with the aroma, however the black licorice becomes a touch overpowering at times. Lots of bakers chocolate and floral hop notes with a mildly spicy accent. Perhaps it needs some more bottle time....very interesting combination though.
