Pours a clear golden yellow with a nice white head. Crisp aroma is quite fruity, a little sweet and rather robust. Crisp, fruity flavor is typical of a pils, only bolder. Mouthfeel is firm and fizzy. Let it reverb in your mouth.

This is actually a pretty nice pils (imperial or not). Unfortunately, it suffers because of it's premium price, and the fact that their collaboration #1 imperial pilsner was hands down better than this. Pretty classic example, though, even at a higher than normal abv. Malty yet there is a nice grassy hop bite and crispness to it. Easy drinking and as predicted, went very well with Thai.

Light golden yellow pour with a slight sustained white head, ample lacing. Clean and sweet aromas and flavor, light lemongrass and black pepper, earthy hops presence, nice small linger and zest. Nice brew.

Happy to have tried a sample and thankful I didn't spring for a larger glass--just not worth the price. Pale gold pour with a small white head. Grainy malt with a backdrop of mildly spicy hops in both aroma and taste. Seems to be lacking to justify the "imperial" tag in my opinion.

Samples from magnum bottle. Pours yellow-gold with a haze. Lasting whit head. Grainy malt aroma with some spicy, floral hop notes. Full-bodied with a bit of zesty carbonation at the finish. A bit sweet up front but finishes bitter. Plenty of hops in the flavor addition. Worth trying.

Pours a golden color. Smell is of malts, grains. Taste is the same, malt and grains, alcohol is present, just a touch of hops. Overall a pretty good beer.

Golden, but slightly cloudy body, the head is thick and fizzy and settles to a thin ring that leaves the occasional lace spot.Aromas and flavors of green grassy hops, some lemon hints, but the malts are the star in this beer. Mouthfeel is ok, but not as crisp as you might think. Overall a nice beer, but to me it seems to be too light for an 'imperial', and not up to the Smokestack Series reputation.
