The Alpine Beer Co. and New Belgium have come together for the love of IPAs. This collaboration is hop-wonderful with Amarillo, Columbus, Simcoe and Centennial hops, bringing the bitter all the way to the front. A nice balance Is present with Pale, C-80 and Carapils malts, but the tropical and citrus tones of the American hops dominate. This Super IPA pours a sheened copper and carries a bright, white head. Consider yourself a hero for getting an Alpine beer outside of San Diego.

Kinda yellow for a dipa, almost macro pils like, no burnt oranges. Nose is all bright hops, then a touch of sweet malt. Big mouth, a bit thinned from booze content. Flavor is rich and bitter, nice and clean. Great beer, nice hop and alcohol burn. Not a top notch dipa but close.

Bright mostly clear golden yellow in color, Super IPA has a frothy off-white head with sticky lacing clutching the glass. Bright citrusy hop aromas combine with earthy grass notes for a floral punch. Sweet mango, pineapple, lemon and grapefruit play off of the sharp wood chip nose and sweet malt profile. The flavor is a direct mirror of the aroma, the balance of fruity and earthy hops between wood and caramel malts. Malt remains a thing of afterthought, content to keep the hops balanced with it's caramel sweetness. Super IPA is crisp and refreshing starting with it's lean, medium-lighter body and mysteriously absent alcohol and moves into a dry bitterness that's both welcome and aggressive at the same time. The finish lingers with bitter, sticky resin the whole way down.

Aroma is SERIOUSLY hoppy - woody and evergreen with a strong grapefruit underpinning. Super IPA indeed! Pours a clear amber with a nice white head. Typical, but still appealing. Flavor is - holy cow, VERY hoppy, both evergreen and woody, as if a madman added the hops! Nevertheless, bitterness is minimal. Malty and fruity tones manage to sneak through, the latter mainly grapefruit and Mandarin orange; there is also a whisper of honey sweetness. Firm-bodied texture has plenty of lively tingle, leaving a very hoppy and yet subtly sweet finish. Super IPA? Hell yes!

Citrus and slight tropical fruit abounds in this sticky yet very drinkable double ipa. though intensely flavored, didnt think this was a 9% brew. Very fresh, very good. Alpine and NB know what they're doing with the hoppy stuff.

Big orange golden yellow pour with a tall but tight white head which leaves tons of drapes of lacing. Huge hopped aroma of pine resin and light citrus fruits, some light peaches, honeysuckle, more earthy pine hops. Bold pine hop flavor, big and bitter, nicely sided with some citrus and light peach flavor, then a nectar sweetness to offset the bitter linger, which is substantial. Overall a tasty big dank piney monster. Very much appreciated.

Bright golden orange pour with a big white head. Tons of hops in both aroma and taste--lots of pine and citrus. Unfortunately, this one is a little hot and sweet, resulting in the lower rating.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear light golden orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is huge piney, resiny, stinky hops.

The flavor is sweet malts and tropical fruits with a big piney, resiny dank bitterness in the finish. The aftertaste is a bit odd - sweet onions maybe? The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Overall, a very fine DIPA! A little too dank and resiny and sweet to be rated higher for me.
