Rich and thick, it's not difficult to know this is Dark Lord. Big fruitiness with a healthy dose of fresh coffee and rich fudge. The brandy barrel adds another depth of sweetness, but also provides a hint of dry fruitiness. The mouth feel is still thick as can be. Overall it's not a distant change from the original, and it was a nice unexpected treat at our last tasting.
