This beer pours a very dark brown with a brown foamy cap. Dark chocolate and roasted malt comprise the majority of the aroma, but there are also hints of vanilla and licorice. The flavours are similar to the aroma with a lot of dark chocolate and roasted malt notes, but still a hint of licorice.

Looks great to start but fades quickly. Roasted malt aroma. Burnt malt flavour with chocolate and coffee. Thin mouthfeel. The name suggests a bigger beer.

Comes in their Holiday Gift Pack for Christmas 2014 (with 2 other cans of different beer and a glass). Almost black coloured with no highlights. The head is pretty creamy, quite brown, long lasting and laces up the glass. Roasted malt aromas with sweet yeast, notes of chocolate and coffee. The taste starts off with this sweetness, then the burnt malts appear to finish with a little bitterness. Hints of coffee, chocolate and the malt lingers. A nice looking stout that starts off nicely, but gets a little too sweet to enjoy more.

Pours a big foamy brownish head and has a dark brown almost pitch black appearance. Fairly good lacing. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts. Flavours are most definitely dark roasted malts, strong coffee notes, chocolate, some hints of toffee and sweet type malts. Some faint spices also in the mix. Slick and puckering sensation. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Slight bitterness on the palate. Pretty good.

    C'est What? (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)

The beer pours a very dark brown, almost black with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was roasted malt, nuts, and coffee. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is roasted malt and coffee. Thin and bitter is the best way to describe this.

Had this beer at C'est What in Toronto on Dec 12 2012. It is black as stout should be, aroma of malt, burnt taste, the head disappeared quickly, and it is more bitter than I prefer. I think they put too much coal in the recipe.
