Slightly cloudy amber pour, tight tall white head, tons of lazy draped lacing. Pine and some citrus hops, ample maltiness to create a nice caramel nose and palate, big bitter linger. Nice beer just not World Class; still drinkable when fresh.

Sampled on 3/15/2012. This double IPA pours a deep copper red color from a 22oz bottle. Large sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and sweet, citrusy and grapefruity. A medium bodied double IPA. The malts are caramel and sweet, with some cookie and orange. The hops are grapefruity, citrusy and piney. Decent carbonation. Medium to high bitterness IPA. The hops bitterness really has some staying power. This beer is sweet at the start, with a whole lot of bitterness in the middle with some sweetness and bitterness at the finish. Nice IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.

Aroma is hoppy with a grapefruit overtone and just a bit of an alcohol nip. It pours a very appetizing clear mahogany with a fairly thick, fine-bubbled, light golden-tan head. Strongly hoppy flavor has a grapefruit underpinning and subtle woody and resin-ish notes but minimal bitterness. Firm-bodied texture is quite lively, fizzy and tingly, leaving a decidedly hoppy and slightly fruity finish. Worth a voyage to find this one.

This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma contains some grapefruit, perfume, and a bit of caramel. Excellent! The flavor is rather bitter but also has some sweetness to it. The flavor contains some grapefruit, caramel, toffee, and some herbal notes. Overall this one is a little more malty than I like but it’s still good. Definitely in the east coast mold.

Pours a orange ear gold .. light head, medium to strong lacing .. . BP is down, again! .. . smell is syrupy hops, sap, alcohol, and sweet bitter brandy .. . very warm stuff, you can feel every bit of the 8%, hell, it feels like 11% .. . this stuff is rough and pretty hard to drink, thanks for the experimental go, but this needs to go back to the drawing board.. ... According to Texas and California law, you aren’t allowed to paint infants, so I will have to wait on that one....

Aromas of pineapple, citrus, pine, plenty of sweet caramel as well. Nice deep amber body with a thick frothy cap that leaves o.k. lace. Flavor is predominately sweet caramel with the citrus hops playing second fiddle. Overall a decent beer, but not on par with the big boys of the IIPA world.

Really nice looking beer, super clear with a nice caramel color and thick head. Flavor and aroma are a tad above average, nothing mind blowing but a decent beer.

It pours a bright copper and burnt-orange with a thick white/light-orange head and fairly copious lacing. An aroma of sweet caramel malts, hops, light pine, grapefruit and citrus, and light spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth and fairly rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, grapefruit and citrus, light pine, bitterness, and spiciness. Excellent .. hits the spot after being outside all day when the high is 10 degrees.

Not a standout as far as dbl ipas go (one of my higher rated styles) but definitely a nice hoppy, tasty brew. Pine and pineapple on the nose and palate, with a healthy dose of malt, a little spice. Very balanced. The hop profile wasn't quite what I thought it would be, but it pretty nice nonetheless. Avg for the style, but that says a lot imo. I've been spoiled with big IPAs.

A deep amber colored beer with a big frothy textured off white head rising robustly above. It has good hang time. Settles eventually into a film and medium ringlet. The nose has more caramel then hops. The tasting mosre pine and floral hops. Though for a beer billed as a double, there is nothing intense in this light-medium bodied, carbonated beer.
