(from Lennox Liquor). Yet another Christmas leftover. It poured a seriously dark copper, yet if held up to the light, some did shine through. The creamy ivory head left some nice lacing on departure. Aroma was disconcerting - what is this? - although not unpleasant. Flavour was alright, I guess, bot not at all compelling. Mouthfeel was rich and smooth, and the finish hum-drum. Not a brilliant dopplebock.

Pours an opaque chocolaty brown with a fine-bubbled off-white head. Rich aroma is malty, spicy and just a little chocolaty. Flavor is mainly malty with a spicy undertone that is mostly cloves and cinnamon. Texture is pleasant, smooth and fizzy.

possibly the best GB i've had...still not great, but it was fairly cheap, drinkable...had a pleasant malty flavor and was actually quite smooth (if a little thin).

Had a pint of this seasonal offering on my last trip to the Columbus Gordon Biersch. The color is dark reddish brown, coppery highlites. Thin cap of foam, left thin lace strings. The smell and taste are a bit thin, I guess I was expecting more. Slight sweet maltiness, warming alcohol finiash. Mouthfeel thin, without much going on. This beer is drinkable and not offensive. Maybe I had too high expectations, it was a cold windy day, and I wanted a nice hearty, malty bock beer. Too bad this didn't cut it.

Pours a dark brown color with a creamy head. Aroma of caramel, malts. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Taste is of toffee, caramel, malts. A good GB beer, just nothing special here.

A decent winter brew. Call it a double bock but it really isnt up to that standard. Aroma is sweet. Appearance is dark but has little head. Mouthfeel is the best part as it goes down very smooth, which is suprising for a winter brew. Flavor lacks much punch though.

Poured a dark copper color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of grains, caramel malts, smoke, nuts, and lots of wood. Taste was of much of the same, this was a decent doppelbock, a surprise from Biersch.

This is extremely easy to drink, dominated by the malt (caramel mostly). The flavor and aroma are extremely clean, but the flavor and aroma aren’t very strong. In fact, this is an excellently brewed beer without the slightest flaw in any way and there’s nothing off-putting about it, but it’s rather boring.
