Somersault is a fun roll around on the tongue, while requiring only the minimum of palate gymnastics. This is the perfect summer lounge-around beer. Somersault tumbles out with citrus aroma from Centennial hops, a soft apricot fruitiness tucked into the flavor, a full mouthfeel from the addition of oats and a crisp, dry finish from the subtle addition of ginger.

Poured out a clear pale yellow with a big foamy head. The aroma is light with hints of malt and slight note of lemon. The mouthfeel is smooth and light as is the taste. Which mostly taste like malt balanced hop.

I had this on draught at the Salem Red Sox game in Salem, VA (Salem Red Sox = 1A farm team). We get a lot of New Belgium down here and this one wasn't really doing it for me. My wife liked it, but it missed the mark for me.

Dark gold body, thin lasting head and splotchy lacing. Medium bodied, very refreshing and clean. A burst of lemon and spice followed by some assertive fruity hops all backed by nuts and bread. Wonderful brew.

Oh boy! Imagine my surprise when I found hidden amongst the recesses of the fridge behind a bottle of Bombay Sapphire, 2 bottles of NB Somersault leftover from my trip to Charleston - just what the doctor ordered after my first Monday back to work after having been out for a bit... clear golden when poured with a stark white two finger head and decent lacing. A little grass and citrus in the nose that translates to the flavors. Light and refreshing without being piss-water. Excellent on a hot, humid Alabama summer day.

A hoppy citrusy aroma to start. Clear blonde in complexion. Thick robust mouthfeel, not thin at all. The flavor is a bit spicy with a taste of hops. nice.

a very nice hop character atop a light and refreshing blonde ale. seems like NB does blonde well. simple, but tasty, recommended as a summer brew for sure.

Somersault is a respectable summer beer, light enough for warmer weather, but heavy enough to keep the light beer blues away. Aromas and flavors of straw, light citrus, and bready malts. A decent blonde with some wheat attributes, and it's easy to drink.

Sampled on 6/6/2011. This golden/blond ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head with decent lacing and nice retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet with some citrus and a touch of ginger. A medium bodied blond/golden ale. The malts are fruity and sweet with a touch of apricot. The hops are citrusy. Decent carbonation. Crisp and clean. A nice summer beer, light and refreshing and the ginger is evident and works well here. Mouthfeel is full and round. The finish is crisp and dry. The aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Comes out of the tap a clear coppery orange amber with a fine-bubbled off-white head. Aroma is malty, fruity, and slightly fruit-sweet. Crisp, mainly fruity is almost like a dry cider, but it has malty and wheaty undertones as well as just a hint of lemon. Texture is fizzy and lively - a great way to welcome summer.

It pours a light golden with a thick and foamy white head and substantial lacing. An aroma of fresh grainy malts, hops, citrus, bread and yeast, and light spices. The mouthfeel is thin and watery. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, bitterness, citrus, bread and yeast, and spiciness. Very fresh and flavorful.
