Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

I had this beer at Beamer's in Roanoke, VA. This beer is classified as an American Pale Ale; however, it tasted to me to be more of an IPA and an English style IPA to be more specific. The hop profile didn't fit the American mold to me. Tasted of noble hops, not the citrus/floral hops one expects from US style pales - especially those of the Western US. In the end, not terrible.

pours a straw colored, with some really light amber hues, with a nice white head and a little lace. The aroma is of grapfefruit, with grass and some slight pear like aromas. The taste is very nice with citrus flavors along with some pine and grass with some light bread like flavors to balance with some sweetness, bitterness is well balanced for a pale ale. The mouthfeel has nice carbonation and is medium boided.

Sampled on 9/26/2012. This American Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, with hints of orange and orange peel. The hops are citrusy and grapefruity. Decent carbonation. Seems a little light on the malt for an APA, but has a decent citrusy hop bite. Nice crisp and dry finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Small sample, on tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep golden colour, large head. Lovely hoppy and spicy aroma and flavour - an excellent beer, as far as I could tell. Will rerate as soon as I get a bigger sample (had to drive tonight).

Man! Howd I miss this beer the last 6 months. It's flippin fantastico. Pours a semi hazey orange. Lacing is thick, sticky icky and clinging to my glass. Aroma is nugget-y, grapefruit and grassy. Saweet, fruity tropical flavors that make this a supreme session APA. I like it , i love it, I want some more of it!

It pours a light copper and golden with a 1/4-inch thick white head and some lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, hops, pine, grapefruit and citrus, bitterness, light honey and mild spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and fairly rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, grapefruit and citrus, bitterness, light honey and spices. Good, clean, and mild..

This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma is caramel and citrus with some rye showing. The flavor is bitter with some citrus and nutty notes. Overall I enjoyed this one.

A bright light amber colored beer with a medium sized, frothy textured, white head rising briefly above. It settles fairly quickly leaving nearly no lacing. The grassy, light citrus and biscuit malt come forth as it warms. A light, smooth and well carbonated beer.

A decent effort from Left Hand, an interesting APA, this stranger. A nice floral presence to compliment the biscut, and grass. Flavors of the grass and biscut up front with the hops sliding in at the last minute. Overall i thought it was pretty nice, and worth a try.

Has a strong, malty, slightly fruity, and surprisingly hoppy aroma, almost more at an IPA than an APA. It pours a clear and typical golden with a fairly thick and frothy white head. Flavor is smooth, malty and slightly fruity, a bit on the watery side but still acceptable. There was almost none of the hoppiness that the aroma promised in the flavor, but there is some in the aftertaste. Texture is fairly smooth and somewhat tingly. Somehow it gets a little better as you drink it. Not Left Hand’s best, but worth a try.
