I’m from the Chinese era Qing. Big batch of bad brew, I will make you sing. Women on the left, men on my right. Ain’t got no corn, ain’t got no rice. I’m just malty nice. ‘Cause I’m TNT. Sometimes you’re not in the mood for what everyone else is having. I'm sure you're all saying, "Oh great, another Weizen Doppelbock, I'm giving up beer for ever!" or something like that. Well, BE excited, yes it's another Weizen Dopplebock but with a twist: Lapsang Souchong Tea. Yup, it's brewed with tea. Apparently this tea will impart a smokey character to the beer. fourfirkins.cloudprofile.com/34164/2011/03/15/left-ha...

what an odd duck this one is. didn't know the tea in this beer was smoked (and heavily so). the doppelbock made no appearance, but the aroma was an odd/interesting mix of smoke, tea, banana, and clove, with the smoke being the main player in aroma and flavor. it was a bit much for me...7 oz was nice but i would not have been able or willing to finish the bomber myself.

Grew on me during my second glass. Not quite sure I like the smokiness, and the tea flavor took a bit to get used to. Aroma is a little funky. Besides that, tastes decent. Appearance is nice, dark dark brown. Decent balance of caramel malt and hop finish. The smokey part in the middle I could do without. Something different though....probably not worth the price.

I had a hard time with this beer, not even close to what i expected, Aroma of medicinal peat, yeast, and wood. flavors were the same with banana coming in, the tea is noticeable and the wood gives it a dry finish. Overall i dont care for peat in beer, scotch yes; well sometimes, but not beer. A interesting brew for sure, but its just not for me.

Aroma is smoky and yeasty with a malty undertone and a firm hint of caramel. It pours a dark opaque brown with a respectable, if not persistent, light tan head. Flavor is yeasty, smoky and malty with a caramel undertone and a fruity hint - could there be a bit of raspberry in there? Texture is smooth and nicely fizzy, leaving a fruity tingle behind.

A deep brown colored beer with a moderate sized, light brown foamy textured head rising briefly above. It settles into a thick soapy ringlet. The nose and tasting to a larger extent are all about malt, sweet and roasted. There’s a smoky wood note. There’s some dark fruit in there, as well. A full bodied, syrupy texture with a fair amount of carbonation. Overall, interesting and good.
