Poured up on tap at Cigar City with dirty murky rutty amber and thin tan head. The aroma is abrasive and abusive with dates mixing with pineapple slices that are baking in the mid summer Carver City sun as well as sourness, dusty hazel nuts, mild funk and nail polish. Yo! What is going on here? The taste begins both tart and sweet with moldy lemon rind and fuzzy molded lime mixing with sugary sweetness. It then gets full of sour and rotting fruit by midway and seems to end bone dry with lingering lime, aspirin and berry notes.

I guess that I do not like flemish/sours, cause not really feeling this one. The initial shock of sourness takes a bit getting used to. Once I was past that, I got to appreciate the how all the flavors work together. Overwhelming though. Aroma is sweet and sour....on the "soy sauce" side. Nice dark red/medium brown appearance with tan head. Lots of carbonation here giving a champaigne/belgian ale feel. Has the potential to be more, but because of the style doubt I will try again.

A mahogany colored beer with a big creamy textured, beige colored head rising above. There’s some hang time, settling into a thick soapy ringlet and cap atop the body and splotches of film aside the glass. Yeast, cherry sour and tart in the nose and to a larger extent in the tasting. Granted this is an acquired tasting preference. I’ve come to like these Flemish sour type ales. A full, syrupy body. Light to moderate carbonation.
