The 2010 release of Nemesis is best described by our brewing team as “a dark barley wine that pours black with a subtle mahogany hue. Brewed with 5 malts and no shortage of hops for a pleasantly bitter booming flavor. Roasty and toasty with a multitude of tastes that melts on your tongue”.

Pours a deep maple syrup brown .. decent low foam .. . i want to stab the mythbusters .. . syrup, sugar, brandy, and bitter burnt hops .. pretty nice stuff, in a year it will be golden .. . . they have the guards in the backfield and they have the center to the right and the quarterback isn't even there..

never woulda guessed barleyine. black, super-hopped (100 ibus) and 12%. rich, dark roasted malts and a ton of hops in the flavor and aroma. would acheive pretty good balance except that everything is so in your face (not that there's anything wrong woth that). overall, a good but not great beer with a lasting chocolate bitter finish.

Nemesis sampled back to back. 2010 being a black barleywine is still a high octane brew although the aggressive hops have started to subdue. Mildly burnt, bitter and nutty...this one is sort of stuck in limbo right now and could likely use a couple years of age. 2009 being a wheat wine has progressed nicely compared to when I had it fresh. It's dried out considerably and the hot burn has subsided. Fruity and mature.
