The first beer in our Atypical Series is now available! Conduplico Immundus Monachus is now being sold at Thomas Creek Brewery and at The Community Tap (select retail locations to follow). Our Atypical Series is packaged in 750 ml corked and caged bottles. Conduplico is the big brother of Dirty Monk, our Belgian-style porter. This imperial version offers all of the great flavors of its little brother, but with an added punch of 10 % ABV. The rich chocolate and roasted flavors still balance well with the tartness of the acidulated malt and esters from the Belgian yeast, but this amped up recipe offers another level of rich flavor that hides the high alcohol. So, beware! It took a monk that was twice as dirty to concoct this devilishly drinkable brew.

Pours a barely translucent dark chocolate brown with a fairly thick and frothy, if not too persistent, tan head. (BTW, somebody please tell Thomas Creek that those plastic corks SUCK - they are a bitch to get out of the freakin' bottle!) Malty aroma has tones of molasses and caramel and a brandy-like fruity note. Satisfying flavor has molasses, malty, caramel and brandy tones, as well as hints of semi-sweet chocolate and coffee. It is slightly sweet, balancing the sharp alcohol edge nicely. Thick-bodied texture is syrupy and somewhat tingly, leaving a finish that has tones of brandy, molasses and maple syrup. Screw repentance and enjoy this one!

Pitch black with tan head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, and some smokiness present. Flavor is rather sweet with more chocolate and some dark fruit. It also has a sour finish. Overall it is #winning and watch out it'll sneak up on ya!
