Woohoo! First beer from Alabama. Was priced towards the upper end for 6-packs, so wanted to try a single first. About what I was hoping for. A little heavy on the carbonation which maybe gives a heavy feel. Smooth though, and has some good balanced malty/hop flavor....sorta like an Extra Pale Ale. Cloudy medium yellow/light orange appearance. Lots of beers out there now, so not sure I would get a 6-pack of this here. But in that part of the country, I'd definitely try again....especially on tap.

Comes out of the bottle a clear solar yellow with a thick and rather persistent ivory head - not impressive, but never judge a book by its cover. Aroma is malty with a fruity overtone, mainly pear with a snip or two of banana, and some yeast. Malty flavor has a surprisingly strong tone of hoppy bitterness, as well as some yeasty and fruity notes. Smooth texture has average fizz and body. If not a great beer, at least drinkable, good for a party. I believe in supporting microbreweries, especially new ones!

A dirty yellow-orange colored beer with a big light bibbled textured white head. There's good hang time settling into fluffy-soaped film and fluffs atop the body. There's sweet citric fruitiness in the nose. The sweetness is balanced by a biscuit malt and acidic sharp earthy hoppiness. Light, effervescent and crisp.

Picked this out of Lou's cooler after the hootenanny was finished and so glad I did! What's with the low scores people? I had this yesterday as my first brew and was damn impressed. Pours a cloudy orange, with a nice frothy white head. Aroma is moderately hoppy, floral and pine resin. Taste fulfills the hop side, rounding off nicely with a crisp, finish.

This was the last place finisher in a recent APA tasting held by the BJCP friend recently. At 44 IBUs, it's a bit light for an American Pale Ale and this showed in both the flavour and the body. Not a beer I would try again.

Very surprised to see this so highly rated here, and so lowly rated on the other two sites. I have to agree with the other two sites that this is a below average pale ale. A hazy copper pour with a thin white head. Aroma is primarily grainy malt, with some citrusy hops. Flavour is extremely unbalanced for an APA with too much malt, and not enough malt.

Thanks goes out to the guy who looked at the label and thought " i wanna bbq that fuckin naked pig (and not bbq that pig fuckin naked)..", Lou!! .. . Pours a deep tan, with fantastic foam features.. . has a complex mouth for a pale ale- biscuit, light resin, light hoppy syrup, and pig dreams .. .man, i wish i had actually gotten naked for this beer- be one with the pig, oh well- next time .. . I really dig this, a great session and a great beer to come out and give alabama a push into the craft beer scene! .. .
He’s not gonna pork her, Russ.

He may pork her, finish your breakfast.

This is a damn good pale ale! No wonder Fargingbastige6 was so eager to trade these. Sharp hoppy citrus bite on a smoothly drinkable ale. Medium-bodied cloudy orange copper color. So good...I wish I had more! Many thanks Curtis!

Go 'Bama! What a well crafted apa! manages to be clean and crisp, yet hoppier than usual and with a unique malt profile and higher levels of complexity than expected. from a style where few stand out, this one is pretty high. Grassy, citrus hops and a slightly biscuity malt character make for a nice combo. i'm having this after a cold weather run, but it would be a very nice summer/hot weather brew. thanks Lou for the trade, and for my 40th state. 93rd percentile in style seems about right.

From in-person trade with fargingbastige6: pours a nice clear light golden amber with a fluffy white head nice lacing throughout. Aromas of grassy earthy hops, lemongrass, slight sweet malts. Taste is slightly hoppier than expected - a bonus! - with the lemongrass flavor, nice earthy citrus hops bitter offset with a slight sweet maltiness. Fine first effort from a deep South upstart brewery. Well done! Many thanks Curtis; BeerPals should trade fargingbastige for some of this one. The South is representing... War Eagle
