Beer Description:
They say there are no second acts in American life, but this beer is living proof that sometimes-if we are very lucky-we get another shot at bringing something great into the world. In the fall of 2009, Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada created Life & Limb to celebrate our extended brewing families. That beer was so popular that it sold out nationwide in less than two weeks and proved once-and-for-all, that the wild and wonderful world of craft beer was healthy and vibrant. Because of that wonderful response, we've decided to brew the beer again…something like a Life & Limb redux. Using the same recipe, but a different package, we invite you to raise a glass once again to the rambling and rambunctious craft beer family tree. Life & Limb 2 will be available nationwide in limited supply starting mid-August 2011.

To Our Extended Brewery Family,

Our decision to make this beer together comes from a shared passion for bringing natural beauty into the brewery process. Our families own and operate our independent breweries, and our co-workers, who share this passion, are an integral part of our extended family.

LIFE-This beer is naturally carbonated to enhance complexity refinement, and shelf-life; the family of yeast cells in every bottle working in vibrant unison.

LIMB-The two syrups used in making this beer, (Maple and Birch) contribute to its unique and earthy flavor and symbolize the collaboration between Sierra Nevada and Dogfish Head.

We are proud to share our two branches with the thousands of other vibrant branches—those of fellow brewers and beer enthusiasts—who collectively make up the craft brewing family tree.

Life & Limb was first released in the fall of 2009, and the beer was so popular with the beer community, we decided to bring it back for the summer of 2011
Available in 750mL cage-and-cork bottles and limited draught.
