Adoration is a traditional winter ale, brewed it the Belgian manner, but with the twist of unusual spicing. Sip it on a winter eve, sitting before a fire. You'll understand why we couldn't name it anything else. Ale brewed with spices: Corriander, Cardamom, Mace, Grains of Paradise, Sweet Orange Peel

Comes out of the tap a dark opaque reddish coppery-amber with a fine-bubbled light tan head. Aroma is malty and a little fruity, the latter mainly apple. Flavor is fruity and malty, and just a little bit honey-sweet. Texture is smooth and slightly tingly.

Clear copper pour, medium creamy head, ample lacing. Salted caramel, slight spices - nutmeg, hint of cinnamon - ripe pitted fruits, vanilla, earthy goodness in the nose and palate. Rich and very satisfying. Better than expected.

A bright amber colored beer with a big frothy textured off white head rising robustly above. There's good hang time on the head, settling eventually into a nice lacing of film and cap/ringlet. Bold nose, even bolder, though not offensively profile of spices, mostly pepper and a backdrop of caramel. Effervescent and easily drinkable.

I like the spices used here. The best word i can think of for this combo is alluring. A touch sweet, fruity, brown sugar spice as well. The mace and cardamom are sure interesting. If the feel was a little more robust I'd really really like this.

A very clear, amber orange beer, nice to look at but almost no head. Aroma is a sharp pungeant experience, very lively. Mouthfeel is very fizzy but not light. Flavor is much milder than expected but not bad by any means. Nice spice notes with a dry finish.

Gave this one a go, and while spiced beers aren't normally something I dig the Adoration came across as one of the better examples I've recently had. A thick, dark Belgian Strong worked well with the medley of spices. Would make a great winter warmer.

750ml bottle. Pours a ruby light brown with a medium creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass a little.

The aroma is sweet caramel and chocolate malts, molasses, some dark fruits and a little spicing.

The flavor is sweet bready malts with some fruits, a little roast and some spices (grains of paradise?) and a dry yeasty light bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with lots of sharp carbonation.

Overall, a nice beer. It's a little on the sweet side, but I liked it and thought the spices worked well. First sips cold are some of the best.

Pours medium brown with a fluffy tan head. Good lacing. Aroma is spicy. Mouthfeel is bright with a bit of a tingle. Expected spices are prominent but not overwhelming. Nice.

Dec. 2009 - Okay, I hate these spice-laden brews. This one wasn’t as bad as I feared it would be, but I still didn’t like it. This reminded me more of an overly spiced witbier with the orange peel and cardamon noteable. Ommegang has yet to come up with a new beer that compares to their traditional lineup.
