180 ml capped bottle, bought at the brewery, brewed on 16 December 2009, bottled on 13 May 2010, as Nr 237 of 1440. Poured in the original De Molen snifter an unfiltered and opaque coffeish-black (383 EBC) Imperial Stout with half a finger deep tan foamy head that had a short retention and tons of micro bubbles. Low carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is rich, a basket of overriped fruits, roasted coffee beans, powerful woody notes, spicy tones, vinous notes. The flavour itself is rich, heavy roasted malts and coffee beans, dark chocolate, intense overriped fruits, plums, figs, raisins, berries, spicy, vanilla, licorice, woody and a pleasant bitterness. The mouthfeel is fulled, flavorful and thick. The texture oily and a bit syrupy. The alcohol is very well hidden. This full bodied I S has a lingering fruity, bitter and spicy finish. An impressive Imperial Stout. So much fun inside such a small (180 ml) bottle, simply great !

Green-waxed bottle, kindly shared by my beerpal Ivar. ABV 12.5%. Black colour, moderate brown head. Oaky and roasty aroma, hints of fusel alcohols and leather. Roasty flavour, notes of oak (whisky cask).

Pours out in an opaque black colour with small disappearing tan-coloured head. Rich aroma of wood, whiskey, nuts, raisins, figs, black chocolate and roasted malts. Full-bodied with strong notes of wood, lack pepper, whiskey, burnt malts, black chocolate and white pepper. Long roasted finish of wood, white pepper, figs and black chocolate. Really intense and tasty!
