2013 vintage. Pours a very dark brown-black color with a huge tan head that diminishes quickly. Scent is straight coffee forward at first. Tons of fresh ground coffee with sweet bourbon and chocolate notes. Lovely oak and vanilla as well. Taste is just as it smells, and just what I was hoping for. All the great coffee flavors are there that were present in the nose. Sweet vanilla, milk chocolate, and just a hint of toffee and caramel. Roasted malt and roasted coffee. Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Booziness is appropriate here, not overwhelming. Drinkability is high. Overall, this is a wonderful barrel aged offering from CW.

Quite simply, this beer rocks. Deep brown/black pour with minimal head and strong coffee forward aromas and hints of oak and vanilla. Medium bodied and creamy yet extremely drinkable. Flavors begin with cold pressed coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, and a slight bourbon finish. The vanilla really shines in this one.

Another huge thanks to the Wisconsin Beer Mafia for all the tasty bottles. I held onto this one until it could be shared with a good friend, and we both really enjoyed it's contents. A really well made stout with a rich roasted content along with bold coffee and chocolate notes. The barrel aging is complimenting to the overall theme, and is subdued enough not to be the main player. Luscious pour, silky smooth and gone all too soon.

Very deep dark color with minimal head. Scent is quite mild but predominately coffee. Mouthfeel is not quite as full as I would like. Flavors of strong coffee and a little whiskey. I tried this one next to a Goose Island Bourbon County and where these are both excellent beers this one is no Goose Island. Much more coffee flavor and less bourbon. If I were to drink a beer for breakfast, this would be it, top notch.

a phenomenal beer, assuming you are a coffee lover. if not steer clear. coffee is strong enough to cut through the bourbon in the aroma and flavor. big time in the flavor. almost too much, but i love it. deeeelicious.

Probably the beer of Christmas Day. Really easy to enjoy for quite awhile as this is clearly a sipper. The beer poured into my glass a deep chesnut brown (nearly black) with a smallish 1/2" light tan head. The aroma starts out on the dark chocolate side of things then as it warms up the coffee and whiskey really start to emerge. Molasses, tar and vanilla are also detectable.

Tasting this is really the start of this show. Rich dark chocolate, bitter coffee, woody, and vanilla. The oak really stands out the more this gets to room temp. It’s either that or some hops but I get a really woody bitterness, merging with the coffee bitterness and it finishes really, really dry for an 8% impy stout. The whiskey really plays a solid supporting role with this beer, and never dominates in any way. Really an outstanding beer.

To honor pfoxyjohn on his birthday - a beer from the Wisconsin beer guru. Pours a mahogany black with a tight head and nice lacing. Nice sour bourbon aroma with a wet, black coffee and hops. Taste is strong coffee upfront followed by an aggressive a bourbon/sour mash flavor that fuses greatly with the alcohol leaving a good warmth and nice slight bitter finish. John my friend, Happy Birthday - I raise a toast to you.

A burrito is a sleeping bag for ground beef, and CW Peruvian Morning is fuckin ridiculous, a really fantastic brew ... . loads of espresso in the nose, follows hardcore into the flavor, big roast level: a coffee drinkers dream, smooth and perfectly balanced .. . amazing flavour, coffee and the slightest touch of the highest grade bourbon, truly delicious and way, WAY to easy to drink.. i honestly don't want it to end, Thanks John for sending this delightful treat my way!! central waters are being snakes in the grass with this one (sneaky i say) , put it in a limited edition 750ml, put on a gold label, and it'll surpass speedway... .

The first of three imperial stouts that i tasted last night: Poured a deep reddishbrown colour with a little bit of blackness toward the bottom. Beautiful nose- espresso, bourbon and chocolate perfectly blended in as one. Taste is rich and complex- cream, whiskey with a hint of coconut and dark chocolate. A really nice brew from CW.

This is quite a delicious creation. Seems much like the CW Brewhouse Coffee Stout infused with mellow, sweet bourbon. Starts as a dark chocolate brown color with a quick-fading brown head. Powerful aromas of sweet coffee and whiskey. Mouthfeel is smooth and full. Rich, powerful sweet coffee flavors with a nice bourbon complement. A long, smooth, strong and warm bourbon-laced coffee finish; the superb bourbon flavor really comes out as it ends."
