    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9

At the Max's 72-hours of Belgium Beer Fest in Baltimore, I came across this little nugget that was listed on the beer menu as "Brewed for the Festival". Always one to try something from Ommegang, as well as something that I might not ever try again, I ordered up a tall glass of the Funk.

I was given the beer in an Ommegang flute style glass. The color of the beer was a hazy amber color and had a slight orangy hue to it. The bubbles were tiny producing a small head what was kinda wispy. It almost looked like a wit. The aroma was very good as I could smell a sweet mixture of strawberries and pear in the nose.

The beer drank very well and I absolutely loved the flavor. It's almost like the perfect summer beer that you'd crack open a bottle off and share with the wife on the back porch. I could totally see myself doing that. The flavors were lightly sweet and again you could taste this amazing mixture of strawberry and pear dancing around your tongue. The carbonation level was very soft and had a solid, dry back end which was nice because I really hate lingering sweetness flavors in my mouth.

This was very well done and I wish this one would go commercial and be sold in bottles. I would love having some of this on a hot Maryland summer day with my wife.
