Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich. All German malts and whole flower European hops make this lager true to style. Malts: 2 row German pilsner, Munich & Vienna malts Hops: German whole flowers. Available on draft year 'round, bottles September-November.

pours a copper colored and clear, effervescent carbonation like a soda, with minimal head which quickly disappeared, with no lacing. The aroma was of strong grain smells, cereal, porridge, crackers with some caramel notes and just a bit of smoke. Slight yeast and alcohol aromas as well. The taste was of moderate malt and caramel taste, some hop flavor just enough to keep the sweetness in check, with a clean, bitter backbone. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and creamy.

Usual amber body with a slight haze, thick cap that leaves some spotty lace. The aroma is of sweet, syrupy bread crust, and roasted malt. Taste is of all of those elements, and there is even a touch of spice. Overall a decent marzen, slightly above average.

Overall unimpressive lacking the boldness of aroma or flavor. It is malty but all six in the pack I bought had an oddly sweet metallic taste. Bad batch, perhaps but really didn't stand up to some of the others I've had this season.

Glad to see some fall seasonals hitting the market, as I am just about summer-beered out. It seems hard to mess up this style, and most marzens seem pretty close in quality. This is probably in my top 25% for Oktoberfests. Good sweet caramel flavor that's not overly rich. Mild hop to balance it out. I am really liking the feel, which is probably the best part. Something that I'll most likely get again, just not this year as I want to try a lot of new samples in this style.

It pours a copper/burnt-orange/amber with a thin white head and some surrounding lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, light hops, oranges and citrus, barley, light bitterness, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is smooth, thick, and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, orange and citrus, barley, bitterness, and spiciness. Very good!

Typical example of a straight up Oktoberfest lager. Lighter than many of the American examples with a malt forward mentality. A touch too mellow for my liking, but there was also nothing wrong with it either. Good show.

This poured a dark orange color with a moderate white head. The flavor is rather malty with citrus and caramel showing through. The finish is slightly sweet and malty. Overall on par with the style and maybe just a little better than most.

Nice Oktoberfest - pours clear amber with a smallish head and some lacing. Big sweet malty aroma with a tough of honey and very slight floral hops. Taste is honey malts with a little floral hops bitter. Tasty 'Fest bier from a very good brewery.

A bright amber colored beer. A soapy textured white head rises ever so slightly above and disappears quickly. No lacing in this one. The nose is bready and some spice. The taste is a big disappointment. Must of got a skunked beer, ‘cause I’m getting some metallic aftertaste. I’ll finish this one and reach for something else to cleanse the palate.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a big mug. There is a freshness date on the front label but I can not read it. Appearance: The body has a deep orange amber color with very good clarity. Its head has a good two finger thickness and is just off white in color. It has very good retention and hangs on well making nice slick lacing on the glass as I drink it down. Smell: Its nose is full off floral and spicy Pilsener like saaz hops along with some sweet bready maltiness. Taste/Palate: There is a good bready malty base flavor with nice sweetness and mild caramel and nutty notes. Hop flavor quickly moves in with very tasty spicy/floral and grassy flavor notes. Hop bitterness is very bright and clean on the finish and well balanced to the malt. The body has a solid medium feel with smooth yet active carbonation. Notes: This beer was very interesting and surprising. The malt was Octoberfest all the way but the hops were crisp snappy German Pilsner and they made for a very tasty combination.
